UPDATED JULY 2000

ABSOLUT CHALK attracted over 400 street artists who painted their chalk murals on the grounds of the Pasadena City Hall. The event received great interest from the media, including televised interviews and live location coverage from KTLA and Channel 4 News. The Pasadena-Star newspaper photographed and showcased the artwork of Jon Planas in their Saturday, July 8th edition. The Chalk event has become so popular that Absolut will hold a Miami version this coming December.

The center piece "Lend A helping Hand" concept design created by Jon Planas, was a colorful collaboration of five artists, representing five different cultural backgrounds. It was a beautiful two days, outdoors in the company of many well-known and upcoming young talents.

ON A DIFFERENT NOTE, the Japanese publication, Voga Magazine has done a two page interview and layout of the popular hand-painted Absolut Bottle Art of Planas. This magazine reaches thousands of Japanese collectors and tourists who come to visit Los Angeles looking for events and points of special interest.

Jon will be going to Las Vegas next month to launch the opening of the new art gallery, Pop Art Shop, where he will sign and dedicate his bottles. It's certainly a busy time this summer for enjoying the good weather and going to the beach, as Planas has deemed this to be the Summer of paint and chalk!

Keep watching for more Planas art on the bodies of some of the most beautiful models in the LA area when the Bad Boys Pool Party takes place in August to benefit Aids for Aids here in Los Angeles.
